Our identity

The name. The mark.
The promise.

A party should be easy to understand and hard to forget. Here is what every part of USSR stands for.

Party name

USSR

United because every student gets a seat. School because change starts here. Socialist because we share resources and responsibility. Republic because representatives answer to students.

Slogan

United by purpose.
Driven by equity.

Purpose gives us direction. Equity makes sure no student is left behind when we get there. It is short, memorable and it says exactly what we will do.

Logo

USSR logo: an orange U inside an open ring with a star

The U is you and unity. The open ring is an open door — every student can walk in. The star is your vote: small on its own, powerful together.

Our platform

Four policies.
No slogans without plans.

Every promise has a reason, a plan and evidence behind it. Read the full case for each policy.

Policy 1 · Transparency

Open Budget

Publish every dollar the student council spends, every term, in plain English.

Read the plan › Policy 2 · Cost of living

Fair Canteen

Cap the price of a basic lunch, add free filtered water and publish prices online.

Read the plan › Policy 3 · Opportunity

Late Library

Keep a quiet study space open until 5pm during exam weeks, with peer tutors.

Read the plan › Policy 4 · Belonging

Everyone Clubs

Fund four new student-led clubs and make participation free.
